She's madly in love with him. She's a sensual women, you know, and it shows in her diaries. She writes about...he comes home one day, he comes home tired and moody -- he's had a hard day at the office. And she teases him. And then, she says, in just a few minutes he's laughing like a schoolboy with his head thrown back.
There is also this other side. There is this very judgmental, hyper-religious women who sort of frowns on other people. Very, as I say, very judgmental and I think a lot of it had to do with his alcoholism. She felt guilty about it. She would feel it was her fault somehow or other.
